After leaving school, Alexander decided to train in practical filmmaking and enrolled at the Arts Institute of Bournemouth. After gaining a BA(Hons) in Film and Animation studies from the film school, he went on to work for a variety of television companies in a variety of roles, including making the tea! He gained a great deal of experience from working on a live studio floor, and experience of shooting and editing stories for local and national television channels.

He is now a freelance photographer, taking photographs all over the world.
